Measuring Guide

Find Perfect Fit, Made Easy

We believe a gown should feel as good as it looks. To ensure your dress arrives ready for your special event and to avoid the hassle of returns, we’ve developed this professional measurement guide.

By taking 5 mins to measure yourself accurately today, you’re ensuring a silhouette that’s flawlessly you.

Part 1: Tools You’ll Need

Everything you need for an accurate fit can be found at home:

Soft Measuring Tape : Use a flexible tailor's tape. Please avoid metal construction tapes, as they cannot accurately follow the curves of your body.

Full-Length Mirror : Essential for checking that the tape is perfectly level around your bust and back.

The Right Undergarments : Wear the exact bra or shapewear you plan to wear with your gown.

Your Occasion Shoes : To get the correct length, wear shoes with the same heel height as the ones you’ll wear on the big day.

A Helping Hand: We highly recommend asking a friend to assist you. It’s much easier (and more accurate) than measuring yourself!

Part 2: Key Measurenments

⚠️ Note: Hollow to Floor must include heel height.

Part 3: Tips & Best Practices

🩲Undergarment Matters

Do: Wear the undergarments you plan to wear with your dress.
Don’t: Avoid padded or push-up bras unless you plan to wear them on the big day.
Different undergarments can significantly affect your measurements.

😌The “Exhale” Rule

Do: Exhale, relax, and stand naturally.
Don’t: Don’t suck in your stomach.
Sucking in may result in a dress that’s too tight to zip up or feel comfortable.

👯The Buddy System

Do: Ask a friend or family member to help.
Don’t: Avoid measuring yourself if possible.
Self-measuring can lead to a 1-inch (2–3 cm) error. Keep your head up and back straight while your helper measures.

Part 4: Find Your Size

Use your measurements to select the best size. lf the difference between your actual measurements and the standard size is less than 1 inch, the dress will fit well. Otherwise. It’s advisable to choose a custom size.

Part 5: Frequently Asked Questions

Always feel free to reach out via alinebridal@outlook.com if you have any questions.

Q: I’m between two sizes. Which one should I choose? ▾

We always recommend sizing up. It is much easier for a professional tailor to take a dress in (make it smaller) than to let it out (make it larger) to ensure a comfortable fit.

Also, each dress style fits differently, and fabric stretch varies from design to design. If you’re unsure, feel free to contact us with your measurements — we’re happy to help you select the best size for your specific dress.

Q: Does your sizing run true to standard US street sizes? ▾

Special occasion wear typically runs smaller than daily streetwear (like jeans or T-shirts). Please do not rely on your usual size—always compare your actual measurements to our specific size chart
